My original plan was to have them completed and in mail by December 1st. I would have made my goal had I stuck to the plan.

I used old (retired) and new (current) Stampin’ Up products to make these cards. So far I’ve made 60 and will probably have to make an additional 25.

I will update this post with the names of the stamps used later today. Right now I need to get these cards signed, addressed, then stuffed into envelopes, affix stamps, then taken to the Post Office for mailing.

gjshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17917173540323044486noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371934265172226527.post-71321130373754162092020-09-29T12:43:00.000-04:002020-09-29T12:43:05.256-04:00Happy Birthday, Pastor

Our Pastor is a true outdoorsman and the Stampin’ Up! Mountain Air Bundle was perfect for making his birthday card. I followed the instructions on Jeannette’s Paper Crafts YouTube channel for making a Mountain Air Diorama card. My husband suggested adding his picture within the diorama and found the perfect picture of him and his wife, down-sized it, then cut it out to go inside. I’ve got bird dies that I purchased a couple of years ago and I cut out birds using Whisper White card stock ... I wanted the birds on the card to look more like seagulls.

I decorated the envelope using the mountain stamp and used alphabet stamps to personalize it with his name.

Stamps: Mountain Air, By the Dock,

Inks: Balmy Blue, Pacific Point, Night of Navy, Soft Suede,

Dies: Majestic Mountain,

gjshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17917173540323044486noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371934265172226527.post-61238960965910966412020-09-26T11:49:00.003-04:002020-09-26T11:49:51.852-04:00Fall Birthday Card for Chadz

It’s our son-in-law’s birthday and I made him a Fall-Themed birthday card. W&B will celebrate their 57th wedding anniversary on June 15th. Several months ago he asked me if I would make an anniversary card for him to give to her ... I felt honored to do so. Nearing the end of May I realized that I've had several ideas on the design of the card but no action. The closer it got to June, the more I realized I needed to get busy.

The two of them are so creative so I wanted to do
something creative for them rather than decorate a piece of card stock folded in half... that just didn't seem fitting for the occasion.

Happy Anniversary W & B!!! I pray that you two will celebrate many more anniversaries together.
Several year ago I taught a crafting class at our local senior center and I remembered teaching this collapsing box as one of the class projects. I decided to go with this project because I think it has much a "WOW" feature when opened. I had to go through several different stamp sets
As hubby and I are safely sheltered in, I’m using part of my time to make cards for church members on his list of church members he calls to check on. Words cannot express the helplessness we feel about this situation. I hope that these cards will bring a ray of hope and sunshine to the recipients.
Last year, I attended the Heirloom Rubber Stamps & Paper Arts Festival in Lawrenceville, GA, a festival that I look forward to attending each year. I purchased a ‘Bird’ stamp last year but never used it. At the festival this year, I saw a couple of samples on display in the ‘Sweet ‘n’ Sassy booth using the same bird stamp that I own so I purchased the sentiment stamp that was used with the bird sample card on display. I believe the bird stamp that I purchased last year was from Impression Obsession Inc.
One of my friends (and Bible Study buddies) was scheduled for a
Our daughter’s birthday is coming up and I was at a loss for the birthday card I wanted to make for her. She is really into sewing now and is doing all she can to learn more about that craft. She has signed up for sewing classes and her hubby gave her a serger for Christmas. I normally don’t purchase any stamps other than Stampin’ Up! Since Stampin’ Up! doesn’t carry sewing related dies, I used a Sizzix die that I purchased years ago (Sewing Elements).
She and her hubby and their two little girls came by today to celebrate her Dad’s birthday which was January 3rd. While they were here, we also celebrated her birthday by giving her the card. I added an inside pocket so that we could place her birthday money in it. Her birthday is Tuesday (January 15th) and she plans to come over and visit us on her birthday.

She asked me to bake a Chocolate Cake for her birthday so I will definitely have to get busy making it for her. I will post a picture of it and the recipe used after baking it.
Birthday wishes today to my husband of 50+ years. We will celebrate 51 years in March. He wanted a home-cooked meal of Steak, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, Green Peas, Rolls and Sweet Tea. I also baked a Baker’s German Sweet Chocolate Cake for dessert.

I used the four egg-whites left after making the Coconut-Pecan Frosting to bake a Heavenly White Cake. Hubby requested Pineapple Frosting.
To make his birthday card, I searched Pinterest for masculine card ideas. I really liked cards made by Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Amanda Bates, so I pretty much CASE’d one of the chards she made. I did make a few changes along the way. one of the major changes I made was adding a Pool Party card base of 11 x 5 1/2. The sentiment on the front of the card is from “A Good Man”. The images are from “Waterfront” and “High Tide”
I used “A Good Man” and ”Stitched All Around” stamp sets for the inside of the card. I encouraged him to do absolutely NOTHING on this day because it was his birthday and his first birthday of the new 2020 decade.
Linda, our church secretary is really resourceful and is a wealth of information. She’s always there when you need her and I wanted to show my appreciation of her by making her this Birdhouse Gift Box with an accompanying card. She is a bird lover and also a lover of dark chocolate. I added chocolate covered mints inside the gift box.
Saturday Morning, September 14, 2019, God sent His Heavenly Chariot for my Mother and a huge part of my life is no longer with me.

This will be our first Thanksgiving without her. Normally we would spend the Sunday after Thanksgiving with her because she encouraged each of her children to spend Thanksgiving Day with their spouses and children.

We were looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday with her in March 2020, but it wasn’t to be... God blessed her with 99 1/2 years and we are so thankful to Him and so blessed for the time he allowed her to spend with us.
My husband is currently the Sunday School Director and we're off to a new school year (September 2019). he purchased book marks as small gifts for each of the teachers and I made cards to go with the bookmarks.

I used larger envelopes to place the cards in because they were too bulky for the regular A2 cards.
Sympathy cards are one of life’s necessities. I really should make a bunch and have them ready when the need arises but I prefer making cards of celebration. This card is for one of the members of our church. His nephew’s wife passed away suddenly a few days ago and hubby and I are hoping this card will cheer him up by letting him know we are thinking of and praying for him.

This just in ... I’m going to have to make another sympathy card. The Drummer for the choir that I direct at our local senior center passed away and I need to send our condolences to his family. When it rains, it pours.
I added the bow on the left side because it looked like it needed something else. I didn’t want to add ribbons, buttons, rhinestones, or gems because I wanted it to have more of a non-gender appearance since this card is for a guy.gjshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17917173540323044486noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371934265172226527.post-81910708196925446132019-02-20T14:12:00.002-05:002019-03-04T12:19:49.697-05:00Sending Wishes Your WayMy sister has been diagnosed as having Pneumonia. I fell in love with it when I first saw it because it reminded me so much of my two daughters when they were little girls. My little grands remind me so much of my daughters when they were small (almost the exact same age difference between my daughters and my grands). I love watching them play together because they seem to enjoy the same things as my daughters. Oh the joys of childhood memories.

Thursday is Valentine’s Day and I really wanted to send my little grands, who I affectionately call, “My Little Sweeties” a Valentine card. I made two because I wanted them to know that I was thinking of them individually as well as together.

The son of one our dearest friends passed away this past Monday, August 27th. It's a grief I don't wish upon anyone because hubby and I also suffered the loss of a child 4 years ago, our dear Angela Monique.

Today was the day of the viewing. They were not there when we arrived so we went by their home to spend some time with them. I am so glad we did.

I made a card and coordinated an envelope for them using products purchased from Stampin' Up! The images were on point ... 'Rooted in Nature', because our friends are rooted in God's Word. How fitting for the occasion. I used other stamps to convey the message but I felt the images said a lot because they spoke to me. RIP "J".

I'm hoping to start a YouTube channel soon with instructions on making this and other cards and projects. The problem I have with watching some channels is having to listen to so much talking and not enough instructions. I find myself fast-forwarding through a lot of the talking just to get instructions. Also, sometimes I feel some of the information is not needed because common sense kicks in. If a viewer needs clarification on something, it should be addressed in the comment section... at least that's what I plan to do.

Until I am up and running on my YouTube channel, here are basic instructions for this project:

Box Card Base: 8 1/2" x 10"
Score on the 10" side at 2", 3 1/2", 6 1/2" and 8"
Score on the 8 1/2" side at 1 1/2" and 7"
Using your Stampin' Up! diagonal plate, score on the 10" side at 5" down to the first score line on both the front and back. Reverse and repeat.

I made a card for her last year and the year before and was not pleased with it. I do hope I got her age correct. If I didn't, she may no longer consider me her friend.
Thursday's SCS Ways to Use It Challenge - Celebrate Earth Day. This challenge gave me the opportunity to create a masculine Thank You card for a friend. Hope he enjoys it.gjshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17917173540323044486noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371934265172226527.post-27065443911362267072016-08-16T23:28:00.002-04:002016-08-16T23:30:49.767-04:00With Sympathy

I made this Sympathy card for my sister last night because her best friend passed away yesterday. I saw a very elegant card demonstrated by Susan Campfield and cased it because it is not only elegant but also quick and easy. I added an extra layer and some gemstones and, since I still have SU Blendabilities I used the light, medium, and dark cherry cobbler Blendabilities as my accent color.
