2020 Christmas Cards

I’m almost done making my Christmas cards for 2020.  My original plan was to have them completed and in mail by December 1st.  I would have made my goal had I stuck to the plan.

I used old (retired) and new (current) Stampin’ Up products to make these cards.  So far I’ve made 60 and will probably have to make an additional 25.

I will update this post with the names of the stamps used later today.  Right now I need to get these cards signed, addressed, then stuffed into envelopes, affix stamps, then taken to the Post Office for mailing.

Happy Birthday, Pastor

Our Pastor is a true outdoorsman and the Stampin’ Up! Mountain Air Bundle was perfect for making his birthday card. I followed the instructions on Jeannette’s Paper Crafts YouTube channel for making a Mountain Air Diorama card.  My husband suggested adding his picture within the diorama and found the perfect picture of him and his wife, down-sized it, then cut it out to go inside.  I’ve got bird dies that I purchased a couple of years ago and I cut out birds using Whisper White card stock ... I wanted the birds on the card to look more like seagulls.

I decorated the envelope using the mountain stamp and used alphabet stamps to personalize it with his name.

Stamps: Mountain Air, By the Dock,

Inks: Balmy Blue, Pacific Point, Night of Navy, Soft Suede,

Dies: Majestic Mountain,

Fall Birthday Card for Chadz

It’s our son-in-law’s birthday and I made him a Fall-Themed birthday card.  Looks so simple, yet elegant while it remains on the masculine side.  This was a quick card to make and NO DSP is required.  Just card-stock, ink, 3-D Embossing folder, and dies. I stamped leaves on the envelope using Old Olive and Cajun Craze stamp pads.

All stamps are from Stampin’ Up!: A Good Man; Vintage Leaves (retired, my favorite); Happiest Birthday Wishes (Inside Sentiment, Retired)

Inks: VersaMark, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Cajun Craze

Thick Whisper White Card-stock

Happy Anniversary W&B

W&B will celebrate their 57th wedding anniversary on June 15th.  Several months ago he asked me if I would make an anniversary card for him to give to her ... I felt honored to do so.  Nearing the end of May I realized that I've had several ideas on the design of the card but no action.  The closer it got to June, the more I realized I needed to get busy.

The two of them are so creative so I wanted to do
something creative for them rather than decorate a piece of card stock folded in half... that just didn't seem fitting for the occasion.

Happy Anniversary W & B!!!  I pray that you two will celebrate many more anniversaries together.

Several year ago I taught a crafting class at our local senior center and I remembered teaching this collapsing box as one of the class projects.  I decided to go with this project because I think it has much a "WOW" feature when opened.  I had to go through several different stamp sets
in order to find the appropriate sentiments to use.  All material used are Stampin' Up!  I absolutely love Stampin' Up!'s Timeless Elegance DSP and I'm really happy that I purchased extra of it before it retired last year.

Papers:Timeless Elegance DSP; Basic Black and Sahara Sand Card Stock. Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Stamp Sets:Tasteful Touches; Music From The Heart; Do the Impossible; Celebrate Sunflowers; Number of Years; Timeless Love; Field Flowers

Dies: Frosted Foliage; Butterfly Bigz Die (Retired); BowTie Bigz Die (Retired)

Cards for LFBC Members

As hubby and I are safely sheltered in, I’m using part of my time to make cards for church members on his list of church members he calls to check on.  Words cannot express the helplessness we feel about this situation.  I hope that these cards will bring a ray of hope and sunshine to the recipients.

Ink & Ribbon: Elegant Eggplant
Lace 3D Embossing Folder

Inside of cards:

You’ve Got This

Last year, I attended the Heirloom Rubber Stamps & Paper Arts Festival in Lawrenceville, GA,  a festival that I look forward to attending each year.  I purchased a ‘Bird’ stamp last year but never used it.  At the festival this year, I saw a couple of samples on display in the ‘Sweet ‘n’ Sassy booth using the same bird stamp that I own so I purchased the sentiment stamp that was used with the bird sample card on display.  I believe the bird stamp that I purchased last year was from Impression Obsession Inc.

One of my friends (and Bible Study buddies) was scheduled for a
heart catheterization this morning and when she informed me last week of her upcoming procedure, I knew I just had to make this card for her because one of the sentiments went perfectly with the card I wanted to make her.  She texted me after the procedure was over to tell me that all went well ... no blockage.

Other supplies used are Stampin’ Up! products:
Stampin’ Up! Dimensionals
Stamps: Around the Corner, Positive Thoughts, You’ve Got This
Baker’s Twine: Pool Party
Inks: Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, and Tuxedo Black Memento
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Pool Party, Whisper White

Happy Birthday, Mia

Our daughter’s birthday is coming up and I was at a loss for the birthday card I wanted to make for her.  She is really into sewing now and is doing all she can to learn more about that craft.  She has signed up for sewing classes and her hubby gave her a serger for Christmas.  I normally don’t purchase any stamps other than Stampin’ Up! Since Stampin’ Up! doesn’t carry sewing related dies, I used a Sizzix die that I purchased years ago (Sewing Elements).

The Designers Series Papers (Bird Ballard), card stock (Pool Party & Basic Gray),  inks (Basic Gray), buttons, baker’s twine, and stamps used are Stampin’ Up! products.

She and her hubby and their two little girls came by today to celebrate her Dad’s birthday which was January 3rd.  While they were here, we also celebrated her birthday by giving her the card.  I added an inside pocket so that we could place her birthday money in it. Her birthday is Tuesday (January 15th) and she plans to come over and visit us on her birthday.

She asked me to bake a Chocolate Cake for her birthday so I will definitely have to get busy making it for her. I will post a picture of it and the recipe used after baking it.

She loved her card (and the gift inside of it).

Birthday Card for Hubby

Birthday wishes today to my husband of 50+ years.  We will celebrate 51 years in March. He wanted a home-cooked meal of Steak, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, Green Peas, Rolls and Sweet Tea.  I also baked a Baker’s German Sweet Chocolate Cake for dessert.

I used the four egg-whites left after making the Coconut-Pecan Frosting to bake a Heavenly White Cake. Hubby requested Pineapple Frosting.

To make his birthday card, I searched Pinterest for masculine card ideas.  I really liked cards made by Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Amanda Bates, so I pretty much CASE’d one of the chards she made.  I did make a few changes along the way.  one of the major changes I made was adding a Pool Party card base of 11 x 5 1/2.  The sentiment on the front of the card is from “A Good Man”.  The images are from “Waterfront” and “High Tide”
I used “A Good Man” and ”Stitched All Around” stamp sets for the inside of the card.  I encouraged him to do absolutely NOTHING on this day because it was his birthday and his first birthday of the new 2020 decade.

All products are from Stampin’ Up!
Card stock used:  Pool Party and Shimmery White
Inks: Pool Party, Soft Sky, So Saffron, Tranquil Tide, Wisteria Wonder
